Jeff Norman
Chief Financial Officer
Jeff Norman was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Extra Space Storage on July 1, 2025. Norman has been with Extra Space since 2012, joining the company’s finance team, before leading the company’s investor relations efforts for several years. Norman has also served on the company's senior management team since 2014 while operating in various roles including Director of Financing, Vice President of Investor Relations, and most recently as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets and Treasury.
Norman was instrumental in establishing Extra Space’s bridge loan program that launched in 2019, offering short-term loans to both existing and potential third-party management partners. This program provides critical financing solutions for self storage owners during the lease-up phase, offering flexible terms, industry expertise, and integrated services that traditional banks can’t match.
He was also instrumental in the establishment of the company’s sustainability program. Extra Space was the first in the self storage space to implement eco-friendly storage practices, setting themselves apart with policies that promote environmental responsibility—long before the industry began to measure such efforts.
Norman was central in obtaining and maintaining the company's public credit ratings and has managed the company's risk management function since 2022.
Extra Space was recognized as the 2023 bronze recipient of the NAREIT Investor Care Award for communications and reporting excellence, a reflection on Norman’s impact and influence on the company’s investor relations.
For Norman, working shoulder to shoulder with great people is the most fulfilling aspect of his career.
